MAIN FIELDS OF RESEARCH

History of the Late Byzantine and early post-Byzantine Monasticism (with focus on Mount Athos history) and ecclesiastical institutions, Byzantine and post-Byzantine dipolmatics and paleaography, The Byzantine and post-Byzantine Archives of Mount Athos.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

• Coordinator of the Program: Archival, Palaeographic and Diplomatic Research. (Coordinator and execution of the Research project A Archives and Manuscripts of Mount Athos; coordinator of the Research project B1The Byzantine Documents of Patmos.
• Academic supervisor of the research project "The Book in Byzantium: Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Bookbinding" carried out by the Institute for Byzantine Research in collaboration with the Byzantine and Christian Museum and the Hellenic Society for Bookbinding (2002- ).
• Editor and reader of the publication series "Athonika Symmeikta"
• Undertaking and execution of European and national programs:
  1. 2002-2005: "Searching for the Tzar's aid. Athos and Russia (16th-17th centuries)".
  2. 2001-2004: European Program (Culture 2000): "Rinascimento Virtuale. Digitale Palimpsestforschung".
