ANNA I. LAMBROPOULOU

BIOGRAPHICAL AND ACADEMIC INFORMATION
• 1977: Graduated from the History and Archaeology Department of the University of Athens.
• 1977: Post-graduate studies in Byzantine History on a Greek State (IKY) scholarship.
• 1978: Diplôme d'Études Approfondies (DEA).
• 1978-1981: Post-graduate studies in Paris at Université Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne and the École Pratique des Hautes Études.
• 1984: Received her Ph.D. from the Department of History and Archaeology, University of Athens.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES AND EXPERIENCE
• 1981-1985: Worked on the Academy of Athens Tabula Imperii Romani (TIR) Programme (Thessaly, Epirus, Thrace).
• 1985: Assistant Researcher at the IBR/ NHRF Historical Geography Programme.
• 1992: Promoted to Associate Researcher.
• 1995: Promoted to Senior Researcher.
• 2001: Promoted to Research Director.

PARTICAPATION IN EUROPEAN PROGRAMMES
In 2002, the Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum (RGZM) entered into an agreement with the EU in the framework of the Culture 2000 Programme to conduct a three-year (2002-2005) research programme focusing on Foreigners in the Early Medieval Migration-Integration-Acculturation. The project included participants from 13 European nations and was coordinated by Dr Dieter Quast of the Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum. The Greek participation was the IBR/NHRF Historical Geography Programme entitled ''Οι Σλάβοι στον Ελληνικό χώρο από τον 7ο μέχρι και τις αρχές του 9ου αι / The Slavs in the Greek region from the 7th through the early 9th c.'' (Coordinator:; internal collaborators: Anna Lambropoulou, Ilias Anagnostakis; external associates: Natalia Poulou-Papadimitriou, Christina Katsougiannopoulou, Anastasia Yangaki). In the frame of the programme, Anna Lambropoulou participated in six workshops held in Athens, Germany, Sweden, Hungary and Spain.

EXPEDITIONS
She has conducted fieldwork and expeditions around the entire Peloponnese.

PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL BYZANTINE STUDIES CONFERENCES
