• 1988-1998: Functional Researcher, Programme ''Historical Geography of Byzantine Peloponnese'', Institute for Byzantine Research / National Hellenic Research Foundation.
• 1999-2001: Assistant Researcher, Programme ''Byzantine History Data Bank''. In the frame of the Programme I worked in the indexing of the ''Liber Pontificalis'' (on the 7th c.), and the ''Historia Langobardorum'' of Paulus Diaconus, and defended my PhD thesis (see publications below).
• 2001-: Associate Researcher.

• History of political thought and perceptions on Byzantine Ecumene.
• Administrative structures of the Byzantine Empire.
• Military and political encounters in the 7th Century.
• Linguistic tradition and theological views in the years of the Arab expansion.
• Historical geography of Corinthia (4th-15th c.).
• Study of the natural environment and rural landscape of Peloponnese (4th-15th c.).
