Η Αντιγόνη Ζουρνατζή είναι απόφοιτος του Πειραματικού Σχολείου και του Αμερικανικού Κολλεγίου «Ανατόλια» Θεσσαλονίκης. Σπούδασε Κλασσική Αρχαιολογία (BA Degree) στα Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges και Αρχαιολογία και Ιστορία των Ανατολικών Λαών (MA και PhD Degrees, αντίστοιχα) στο University of California, Berkeley. Πριν από το διορισμό της στο ΚΕΡΑ το 1996, ασχολήθηκε με έρευνες γύρω από την ιστορία και τον πολιτισμό των Αχαιμενιδών, της αρχαίας Κύπρου και των Φοινίκων ως Postdoctoral Research Associate στο Department of Near Eastern Studies του UC Berkeley, ως Senior Fellow του National Endowment of the Humanities στο Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute στη Λευκωσία, και ως ερευνήτρια στο Institut Fernand Courby, Maison de l'Orient mediterraneen στη Λυών. Δίδαξε αρχαία ιστορία, αρχαιολογία και αρχαία ελληνική τέχνη, και νομισματική στα Πανεπιστήμια της Λυών (Lyon II) και της Θεσσαλίας. Συνεργάζεται με το Athienou Archaeological Project στην Κύπρο και είναι υπεύθυνη για την επιστημονική συνεργασία του ΕΙΕ με τον Οργανισμό Πολιτιστικής Κληρονομιάς, Χειροτεχνίας και Τουρισμού του Ιράν.

Ερευνητικά Ενδιαφέροντα
Θέματα ιστοριογραφίας, αρχαιολογίας, τοπογραφίας, επιγραφικής, νομισματικής.
Ειδικοί τομείς έρευνας η αρχαία Κύπρος και οι πολύμορφες διασυνδέσεις του αρχαίου ελληνικού κόσμου με το Ιράν.
