Social and cultural history of the period of the Greek Enlightenment and the 19th century. The Philhellenic Movement in the 19th c. History of the Greek Book and the Greek Libraries, 15th-19th c. Travel literature in SE Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean, 15th-19th c. History of the Greek Press, 18th-20th c. Has read papers at more than 40 International and Local Congresses or Symposia.
1987--1997 Representative of the NHRF on the Standing Committee for the Humanities European Science Foundation. 1989- 1997 National co-ordinator, member of the Consultative Committee for the UNESCO Project:"Integral Study of the Silk Roads, Roads of Dialogue. 1990- 1997 Member of the Consultative Committee of the Revue des Etudes S.E.Europeennes. 1995-1997 Member of the Administrative council of the Greek General State Archives.
