He was born in 1970 in Eleftheroupolis, Greece. He studied at the Ionian University (BA in History, 1994) and, at the graduate level, at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, in Paris (Diplôme d' Études Approfondies - Spécialité "Histoire et Civilisations", 1996). Én 2005, he obtained his PhD (Doctorat en Histoire) from the Université Paris I - Panthéon - Sorbonne. Between 2001 and 2007, he was Research Fellow in programmes of the INR/NHRF and of the Music Library of Greece "Lilian Voudouri". Since March 2007, he is Researcher in the Sector of Economic and Social History of the INR/NHRF. His research interests focus on the economic and cultural relations between Western Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the early modern and modern period (17th-19th c.).
