Machi Paizi-Apostolopoulou

LIST OF PUBLICATIONS

Mahi Paizi-Apostolopoulou was born in Athens. She graduated from the Historical and Archaeological Department of the University of Athens in 1971. She defended her doctoral thesis on ''The institution of Patriarchal Exarchate during the 14th-19th centuries'' at the University of Salonica in 1993. Her skills on Paleography, significantly furthered while working on the Catalogue of Manuscripts of Greek National Library, allowed her to research the history of the Greek society under the Ottoman rule (1454-19th century) by thoroughly studying original and non-indexed sources. Since 1981 Paizi-Apostolopoulou has been working for the INR/NHRF, currently as Senior Research Associate and member of the research Programme ''Institutions and Ideology in Modern Greek Society, 15th-19th centuries'' (see link). She has published books and articles and presented papers in Greek and international conferences. She has organized various seminars and international conferences and taught in postdoctoral seminars. A member of several academic societies, she has received awards for academic excellence from the Greek Academy and the University of Athens.
