The Programme examines the evolution and fluctuations of political ideas in Greek society from the era of Enlightenment up to the time Greece joined the European Union. The Programme is interested in the transfer of modern political ideas to Greece, as well as the interactions and osmosis with the substratum of indigenous political traditions and practices, aiming at a deeper understanding and study of the opposing complexes produced, as well as the hybrid forms created by this interaction. For this purpose various sources covering an extended time span are indexed. The research, in its current stage, focuses on the formulation of political thought during the second half of the 19th century.
