1985-1987. Teaching Assistant in School of Pharmacy for introductory and advanced level courses.
1988-October 1990. Research Assistant in School of Pharmacy.
October 1990-June 1991 Postdoctoral Fellow in School of Pharmacy.
June 1991- August 2007 Research director of Laboratory of Molecular Analysis at the Institute of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry (IOPC) of National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF). I still exerting research activity as scientific collaborator in the same laboratory.
September 2007- Associate Professor at University of Athens, Chemistry Department. Organic Chemistry section.

  • RESEARCH INTERESTS 

a) Application of  physical chemical methodologies (Solid state and liquid NMR spectroscopy, DSC, Raman, x-ray diffraction) for
(ii) Study drug:membrane interactions
(iii) Perform conformational analysis to find the stereoelectronic requirements for drug activity.
(iéé)  Characterization of materials (zeoliths, bioinorganic complexes etc).
b) Use of 3D QSAR studies and Molecular Modeling to design novel AT1 antagonists and other classes of bioactive molecules.
c) Explore of the Cyprus plants for bioactive constituents (i.e. F. Sycomorus for psoralens).

d) Extend the knowledge of applications of NMR in medicine (use of MRI techniques)

  • SOFTWARE

Co-author of part of  "Molecular Conceptor". This is a commercialized software dedicated in the Drug Design and Synthesis  by Synergix Ltd. The chapter I have been contributing is referred about the principles that govern Synthesis of drug molecules.

  • CD CREATION

  CD creation with my research group of Laboratory of Molecular Analysis containing information on the "Olive Oil" , its role in the civilization and religion. This is created for being distributed when a meeting was organized in Athens in which participated all partners of European funded project  "GROWTH". This is included in the web site of the funded project and it is utilized by NHRF as a commercial product.
