The Photonics for Nano-applications Team is dedicated to research and development of nanostructured materials, devices and methodologies alongside with studies of fundamental processes using photons in the following directions.
The investigation of size-dependent physical properties of materials and surfaces.
The development of new photonic systems and devices based on novel engineering structures that present particular functionality.
The development of fiber and integrated optical devices and sensors.
The ''photonics for Nano-applications'' activity comprises two complementary laboratories:
I. The ''Short Light Wavelengths and nano-applications Laboratory''.
A: Synthesis of nanostructures with specific functionality.
B: Surface engineering at the nanoscale.
C: Nanoscale System dynamics.
