The Photonics for Nano-applications Team is dedicated to research and development of nanostructured materials, devices and methodologies alongside with studies of fundamental processes using photons in the following directions.  

• The investigation of size-dependent physical properties of materials and surfaces.
• The development of new photonic systems and devices based on novel engineering structures that present particular functionality.
• The development of fiber and integrated optical devices and sensors.

The ''photonics for Nano-applications'' activity comprises two complementary laboratories:

I. The ''Short Light Wavelengths and nano-applications Laboratory''.
