Educational activities for elementary and secondary schools

Among the activities of the Institute of Historical Research is the dissemination of the findings of its research to a younger audience, with the aim of raising awareness and familiarizing secondary school students with the fields in which researchers work. This initiative is part of the Institute’s broader effort to cultivate ties with society at large. To this end, classes from junior and senior high schools in Athens and Attica, following prior arrangement with the Secretariat of the NHRF, visit the Foundation’s premises, where they are given guided tours and attend activities and talks held on site and in the “K. Th. Dimaras” Library. In parallel, researchers from the Institute, individually or in groups and by invitation, also visit junior and senior high schools for the same purpose. Furthermore, to ensure the effective implementation and supervision of specific activities, cooperation protocols have been signed between the Institute and educational organizations (e.g. Philekpaideftiki Etaireía [Society for Promoting Education and Learning]).
