Research and innovation for society
The National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) has a vision to promote scientific research and strengthen innovation in Greece, with the aim of advancing knowledge and improving the quality of life of citizens. It aims to create a dynamic and modern research environment that promotes excellence and strengthens cooperation with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry, both nationally and internationally.
The purpose of the NHRF is to conduct high-quality scientific research with the aim of contributing to scientific and technological progress. Through research activities at the Institute of Chemical Biology and the Institute of Theoretical and Physical Chemistry, the NHRF seeks to develop and apply innovative solutions in critical fields of biology, chemistry, and physics, such as health, energy, materials, and biotechnology. At the same time, the Institute of Historical Research develops research activities aimed at historical documentation and interpretation and the dissemination of new knowledge, contributing to national self-awareness and international scientific presence.
Through the implementation of targeted research projects and programs, the NHRF aims to strengthen the country’s competitiveness and integrate research results for the benefit of society and the national economy.
In addition, the NHRF strengthens the education and training of young researchers and scientists in the fields it covers, promoting the dissemination of knowledge and scientific cooperation.
