The research project “The silver coins of the kings of Cyprus: coinage and history of the Archaic and Classical periods (6th–4th c. BC) (SilCoinCy)” focuses on the collection of numismatic material kept in museums and private collections around the world, the creation of a numismatic database, the study of the coinage, and the dissemination of research findings through scholarly publications on the website Kyprios Character.

“Excellence II” Action (2014–2015)
The research project “The silver coins of the kings of Cyprus: coinage and history of the Archaic and Classical periods (6th–4th c. BC) (SilCoinCy)”, during January 2014 – October 2015 was funded by the “EXCELLENCE II” action, which falls under the 4th Strategic Objective of the Operational Programme “Education and Lifelong Learning” (EPLL) of the NSRF 2007–2013, entitled “Strengthening human capital for the advancement of research and innovation”, co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) and national resources.
ANAVATHMIS Action (2017–2020)
The additions of Cypriot coins from the numismatic collection of the American Numismatic Society to the COINS section of the website were carried out with funding from the “Anavathmis” project. “Anavathmis: Advancement of Historical Research – Studies and Digital Applications”, coded MIS 5002357, falls under the Operational Programme Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation (EPAnEK) 2014–2020 – Strategic Development Action of Research and Technological Bodies, co-financed by Greece and the European Union (European Regional Development Fund).
