Institutes

The NHRF consists of three specialized research institutes, which develop autonomous and interdisciplinary activities:

Institute of Historical Research (IHR)

The Institute of Historical Research (IHR) is dedicated to the research of the political, economic, social and cultural history of Greek and Roman antiquity, Byzantium and Modern Hellenism. The Institute is divided into 3 sections: the Section of Greek and Roman Antiquity, the Section of Byzantine Research and the Section of Neohellenic Research.

Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute (TPCI)

The Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute (TPCI) focuses on the promotion of scientific knowledge and technological innovation in the field of advanced functional materials. Its research activities cover strategic cutting-edge fields such as synthetic and physical chemistry, theoretical and computational chemistry, materials science, and photonics and quantum technologies.

Institute of Chemical Biology (ICB)

The Institute of Chemical Biology (ICB) has a long-standing and dynamic presence in the research landscape of the country, serving consistently and successfully the high quality scientific research in the fields of Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Organic and Organometallic Chemistry, as well as Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
