- Dr. N. S. Tagiara (TPCI/NHRF): Awarded the “2022 Norbert J. Kreidl Award for Young Scholars in Glass Science” by the American Ceramic Society for her outstanding doctoral thesis on “Synthesis, structure and properties of pure TeO2 glass, binary and ternary tellurite glasses.”
- Dr. S. Kremydi (IHR/NHRF): Awarded the “Archer Milton Huntington Medal Award for 2021” by the American Numismatic Society.
- Dr. N. Tagmatarchis, Dr. S. Pispas, Dr. O. Tsilippakos (TPCI/NHRF): Ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide in the fields of: (a) Chemistry, in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and the related subfield of Organic Chemistry, (b) Chemistry, in the field of Polymer Science and the subfield of Chemical Physics, and (c) the fields/subfields, “Enabling & Strategic Technologies/Photonics & Optoelectronics” and “Physics & Astronomy/Applied Physics.”

Success Stories
- From research to product: acquisition of the start-up company “QuadrEl Srl” [(co-founder: Dr. T. Kalogeropoulou, ICB/NHRF) which discovered a candidate drug for canine leishmaniasis (Kala-Azar)]
- The long-standing contribution of TPCI researchers to the theoretical foundation of Attosecond Physics, the field that was awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics.
