Publications of the National Hellenic Research Foundation

The ground floor of the main building of the National Hellenic Research Foundation, in the heart of Athens, houses the NHRF Bookstore—a dynamic space for disseminating the Foundation’s scientific knowledge and cultural output to society. Through its publications, the research and educational work of the NHRF’s Institutes and Programs is highlighted, offering access to high-quality studies covering a wide range of research, mainly in the humanities but also in the sciences. The NHRF’s publications are aimed at both specialist scientists and the general public.

The Bookshop stocks the complete publications of the Institute of Historical Research (IHR), which includes the scientific publications of its three Departments:

• Department of Greek and Roman Antiquity
• Department of Byzantine Studies
• Department of Modern Greek Studies

These publications—monographs, collective volumes, conference and workshop proceedings, albums, and publications of archival or rare material—are valuable tools for scholars of Greek history and culture, from prehistory to the modern era. They reflect the methodological excellence and thematic diversity of the IHR ‘s research output.

The Bookshop also stocks publications from the “Science – Society” Program, which have emerged from lectures, events, and educational features that highlight the fruitful interaction between science and society. These publications, with their distinctive character, deal with historical issues, the natural sciences, health sciences, and society in general. They are aimed at the general public and enhance the dialogue on the place of scientific knowledge in public life.
