INSPIRED

The INSPIRED Infrastructure consists of two complementary components:

1. a) INSTRUCT-EL, a distributed national infrastructure that employs integrated Structural Biology approaches and includes platforms for protein sample expression/isolation and purification, biophysical characterization, and three-dimensional structure determination using X-ray crystallography and NMR, as well as molecular simulations and data management derived from these methodologies.
2. b) UPAT-RISF, a national-scale infrastructure offering services in Structural Biology as well as in related fields such as drug screening and preclinical evaluation of bioactive compounds of pharmaceutical interest, functional characterization of drug targets, and identification of biomarkers, pharmacogenomics, and personalized medicine.

One of the main objectives of INSPIRED is to ensure an effective management framework for the existing infrastructures, in order to optimize the services provided to users and maximize the benefits for the technological, scientific, and economic development of the country.
