The Institute of Chemical Biology (ICB) at the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) invites expressions of interest from excellent and highly motivated researchers for full-time appointments at the level of Staff Researcher (Grade C or Grade B), in the broad area of Chemical Biology and related disciplines.
ICB/NHRF provides a highly collaborative, internationally oriented research environment. While the Institute’s core focus is Chemical Biology, we welcome applications from interdisciplinary fields that synergize with the Institute’s mission, including (but not limited to): structural biology and molecular modeling, medicinal and organic chemistry, molecular and cellular biology for basic and translational research, holistic approaches for biomarker discovery, and (nano)biotechnology and synthetic biology.
We seek outstanding candidates with strong scientific track records and clear potential for international leadership.
The successful candidates will be expected to:
- develop an independent research program, aligned with ICB’s scientific strategy,
- attract competitive funding at the national and European level,
- contribute to training and mentoring of early-career researchers
- strengthen the Institute’s international collaborations and scientific output.
Applicants should demonstrate:
- a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and scientific contributions,
- a coherent research vision with high originality and impact potential,
- ability and plans to secure independent research funding (e.g., EU, national, foundations, private sector),
- commitment to teamwork within a research institute setting.
Eligibility
- PhD in a relevant discipline (Life Sciences, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Computational Sciences, or related)
- Postdoctoral and/or independent research experience consistent with Grade C/B seniority
- International experience and collaborations will be considered an advantage
