Dr. Christos Riziotis, Director of Research, participated as Invited Speaker at the International Conference SPIE Photonics Europe 2026 (Strasbourg 12-16 April 2026). During his talk entitled “Hybrid Integrated Scalable Circuits in Silica with Embedded Quantum Emitters”, Dr C. Riziotis presented the novel technology of quantum emitters’ integration in photonic integrated circuits, exclusively developed at NHRF, together with recent experimental results towards the implementation of quantum computers and ultrasensitive quantum sensing devices.
TPCI/NHRF Researcher Dr Odysseas Tsilipakos is the senior and corresponding author of the publication “Efficient Lasing in MoS2/WSe2-Based Metasurfaces Enabled by Quasi-Dark Magnetic Dipole Resonance”, G. Nousios, T. Christopoulos, E. Kriezis, O. Tsilipakos, which was published on January 26, 2026 in the prestigious journal of the American Chemical Society (ACS), ACS Applied Nano Materials 2026, 9, 2301–2308 and selected by the editors for display on the Cover Pages of the issue.

Η μελέτη που υλοποιήθηκε σε συνεργασία με ερευνητικές ομάδες από το ΕΚΠΑ, το ΙΗΔΛ/ΙΤΕ Κρήτης το Centre for Polymers and Carbon Materials στην Πολωνία και του Univ of Greenwich at Medway, δημοσιεύθηκε στο κορυφαίο περιοδικό του τομέα των βιοπολυμερών Int. J. Biological Macromolecules 2026, 346, 150678.
Σκοπός της μελέτης είναι η ανάπτυξη βιομημιτικών υβριδικών νανοφορέων λιπιδίων/κατιοντικών συμπολυμερών/δεοξυριβονουκλειϊκού οξέος για γονιδιακή θεραπεία με χρήση τεχνικών μικρορευστονικής (microfluidics) και ηλεκτροστατικής σύμπλεξης μακρομορίων.

Orfanoudakis, P. Dallas*, N. Zacharopoulos, P. Tsipas, A. Banis, L. Tsetseris, A.G. Kontos and T. Stergiopoulos* in the journal of the American Chemical Society ACS Appl. Opt. Mater. 2026, 4, 140−147.
Dr Stergios Pispas Research Director at the TPCI/NHRF is coauthor of the publication “Amylopectin Copolymers Grafted with RAFT-Obtained Synthetic Polymers: Synthesis and Aqueous Solution Behavior”, M.-M. Bazarghideanu, M.-M. Zaharia, A.-M. Macsim, M. Mihai, S. Pispas which has been published in the renowned journal in the field of biopolymers Biomacromolecules 2026, 27, 1985−1998.
This research has been implemented in collaboration with the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Romanian Academy of Sciences. It describes the synthesis of hybrid graft copolymers composed of the natural polysaccharide amylopectin through direct reaction with synthetic polymers synthesized by the RAFT polymerization technique.

The project entitled “Optimized, large-scale, synthesis of ternary chalcogenide nanocrystals for optoelectronics and photocatalytic applications”, with Dr. Panagiotis Dallas of the TCPI/NHRF as the Principal Investigator has received funding of €10.000 for 24 months, within the framework of the Partenariat Hubert Curien France – Grèce 2025 call of the State Scholarships Foundation. The French partner is CEA Grenoble, while the Greek research team also includes researchers from NCSR “Demokritos”.
This project establishes close collaboration with the research group of Dr. Peter Reiss, a leading expert in the synthesis of inorganic nanocrystals.

On December 13-14, 2025, the researchers of the TPCI/NHRF Dr Anastasia Rissanou and Dr Odysseas Tsilipakos co-organized with the Hellenic Society for the Science and Technology of Condensed Matter (HSSTCM) the annual online educational seminar “Computational Materials Science 2025 (CMS25)”. The two-day seminar included numerous talks in cutting-edge areas of the Computational Materials Science and was a great success, with 124 participants (students and young researchers).
The postdoctoral researcher at TPCI/NHRF, Dr. Ioanna Sideri, is the lead author of the publication entitled “Terpyridine-functionalized single-walled carbon nanotubes towards selectivity in the oxygen reduction reaction”, which was published in the international scientific journal Nanoscale Advances of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
The Associate Researcher of the TPCI/NHRF Dr. Anastasia Rissanou is corresponding coauthor of the publication FmocFF Peptide Hydrogel Is a Promising Matrix for Encapsulation and Controlled Release of the Anticancer Peptide Drug Bortezomib, P. Divanach, A. Noti, P. Vouvopoulos, T. Athanasiou, N. Kountourakis, V. Harmandaris, A. N. Rissanou*, and A. Mitraki*, in the leading journal in the field of molecular biology and biochemistry, Biomolecules 2025, 15(6), 839.
The two-day online training workshop is dedicated to most recent advances in the theory and simulation of Materials and Light-Matter interactions. The speakers are well-known experts in their fields. The workshop is aimed to young researchers in theoretical and computational Materials Science, Physics and Engineering, including senior undergraduate students, graduate students, PhD candidates, postdocs and early-career investigators.
