Funded research projects

The Institute of Historical Research (IHR) carries out a wide range of funded projects that generate new knowledge, foster collaboration, and bring historical research into dialogue with both the academic community and society. These projects are divided into four main categories:

a. those funded by European programs such as Horizon Europe, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, and ERC, which strengthen the international dimension of research;

b. those supported by national resources, through funding bodies such as H.F.R.I., programs by the Management and Implementation Authority for Research, Technological Development and Innovation Actions (MIA-RTDI), and other national schemes, which respond to national research priorities and support the Institute’s strategic development;

c. international collaborations with universities, research centers, foundations, and organizations, which promote intercultural exchange and scholarly networking; and

d. initiatives supported by public benefit foundations, corporate partners, and sponsorships, which highlight the relevance of historical research and its broader social impact.

Through these projects, the IHR not only advances historical scholarship but also enhances its international visibility and contributes to addressing contemporary cultural and social challenges.
