The Section of Byzantine Research of the Institute of Historical Research (NHRF) has made a substantial contribution to the productive first decade of the unified Institute, effectively addressing the challenges posed by interdisciplinarity and international scholarly collaboration. Following the 2024 restructuring and the integration, from 2025 onwards, of all projects into five research areas, the Department not only reinforces its cooperation with the other Sections but also underscores its distinctive contribution to the Institute’s overall strategy and scholarly identity.
