The natural resources of many islands, but above all their position along maritime routes created conditions for the development of small-scale economies that went beyond simple self-sufficiency. Fieldwork focuses on the case studies of Milos and Kimolos in the central Aegean, and Kasos and Karpathos in the southeastern Aegean.

Digital photogrammetry: 3D model of Ellinika Gulf and Agios Andreas Islet (SW Kimolos), the location of the island’s main settlement from the Late Geometric period onward.
