Study of the history of economic networks through an exploration of

  • The processes of creation, transformation, development and possible dissolution of economic and commercial networks during specific historical contexts (eg. Constantakopoulou, Athenian empire)
  • The impact of the creation of economic networks onto societal structures, the politics, religion and culture of ancient societies (eg. Constantakopoulou, history of Delian networks during the Hellenistic period)
  • The study of material culture and archaeological data that are the product of economic and commercial networks, such as coins, ceramic production etc.
