The work of Dimitra Andrianou focuses on the study of daily life in antiquity through the examination of ancient furniture and textiles, as preserved in the archaeological record, written sources (literary texts and inscriptions), and iconography (vase painting, reliefs, painting, and mosaics). As a member of the EuroWeb: Europe through Textiles, Network for an Integrated and Interdisciplinary Humanities (COST 19131), D. Andrianou has explored the specific use and significance of funerary textiles in the Classical and Hellenistic periods across the wider Greek world, with the aim of deepening our understanding of funerary customs. This research has led to the preparation of a monograph titled Textile Furnishings in the Ancient Greek World, forthcoming from Oxbow Books.
