The Program focuses on the systematic collection of documentary material concerning the geography, demography, administrative history, economic activities, and ethno-cultural groups in the Greek territories from the fall of the Byzantine Empire to the formation and gradual expansion of the Modern Greek state (15th–20th c.).

Objectives:

  • Historical study of regions, settlements, and specific phenomena or issues.
  • Management, classification, and documentation of source material related to settlement history.
