HISTORNET: Digital infrastructure for the dissemination and communication of the Institute of Historical Research and historical scholarship in Greece

The digital platform https://www.histornet.gr/ was developed as part of the project “Digital Infrastructure for the Dissemination and Communication of the Institute of Historical Research and Historical Studies in Greece”, funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I.). The platform serves as a modern digital tool for the promotion and communication of the scientific output of the Institute of Historical Research (IHR) of the National Hellenic Research Foundation—Greece’s leading research center in the field of historical studies.

Its primary objective is to highlight and disseminate the historical research produced within the IHR’s three Sections—Greek and Roman Antiquity, Byzantine Research, and Neohellenic Research—while enhancing the Institute’s academic outreach through the digital presentation of research projects, publications, activities, and initiatives. At the same time, HISTORNET aspires to act as a bridge between the scholarly community and the wider public, fostering dialogue on historical knowledge and encouraging the cultivation of historical awareness in the public sphere.
