The Mount Athos Studies Laboratory of the Institute of Historical Research focuses on the systematic study, documentation, and publication of primary sources from Mount Athos, ranging from archival documents and inscriptions to manuscripts and early printed books. Special emphasis is placed on scholarly documentation, the use of digital tools, and the dissemination of research results to a wider audience. The Laboratory organizes lectures, workshops, and international conferences, fostering collaboration among researchers and institutions in Greece and abroad, and actively contributes to the study of the history, culture, and spiritual tradition of Mount Athos.
