CLOSEInternational collaborations
As the oldest purely research-oriented center in Greece, the National Hellenic Research Foundation has, since its earliest years of operation, developed strong partnerships with leading universities and research institutions abroad. In the same spirit of openness and creative exchange, the Institute of Historical Research continuously strengthens its international partnerships, aiming at:
- promoting interdisciplinary research,
- disseminating its scientific output to the international environment, and
- fostering mutually beneficial collaborations with foreign institutions.
Some of the most recent collaborative initiatives include:
- The creation of a joint postdoctoral research position in cooperation with the Center for Hellenic Studies of Harvard University (USA).
- The establishment of a scholar exchange program with the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (France).
- Cooperation with the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH) of Mexico for conducting underwater archaeological research in Kasos and Karpathos.
Through these and similar initiatives, the Institute not only strengthens its position on the international research map, but also makes a substantial contribution to linking Greek research with the global scientific community.
The network of all the Institute’s international collaborations is presented on the accompanying online map.
