Dr Stergios Pispas Research Director at the TPCI/NHRF is coauthor of the publication Amylopectin Copolymers Grafted with RAFT-Obtained Synthetic Polymers: Synthesis and Aqueous Solution Behavior, M.-M. Bazarghideanu, M.-M. Zaharia, A.-M. Macsim, M. Mihai, S. Pispas which has been published in the renowned journal in the field of biopolymers Biomacromolecules 2026, 27, 1985−1998.

This research has been implemented in collaboration with the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Romanian Academy of Sciences. It describes the synthesis of hybrid graft copolymers composed of the natural polysaccharide amylopectin through direct reaction with synthetic polymers synthesized by the RAFT polymerization technique.

The project entitled “Optimized, large-scale, synthesis of ternary chalcogenide nanocrystals for optoelectronics and photocatalytic applications”, with Dr. Panagiotis Dallas of the TCPI/NHRF as the Principal Investigator has received funding of  €10.000 for 24 months, within the framework of the Partenariat Hubert Curien France – Grèce 2025 call of the State Scholarships Foundation. The French partner is CEA Grenoble, while the Greek research team also includes researchers from NCSR “Demokritos”.

This project establishes close collaboration with the research group of Dr. Peter Reiss, a leading expert in the synthesis of inorganic nanocrystals.

Dr Panagiotis Dallas (Senior Researcher, Grade B’) of the TPCI/NHRF is the leading author of the original research paper “Magnetically controllable sponges for crude oil, mercury, and arsenic removal, P. Bika, N. Todorova, M-A. Gatou, M. Pissas, E. Devlin, E. Sakellis, N. Boukos, N. Lagopati, T. Lymperopoulou, L-A. Tsakanika, E,A. Pavlatou, V.Κ. Τzitzios and P. Dallas* in the leading journal of environmental science Environ. Sci.: Νano, 2026, 13, 280–295.

On December 13-14, 2025, the researchers of the TPCI/NHRF Dr Anastasia Rissanou and Dr Odysseas Tsilipakos co-organized with the Hellenic Society for the Science and Technology of Condensed Matter (HSSTCM) the annual online educational seminar “Computational Materials Science 2025 (CMS25)”. The two-day seminar included numerous talks in cutting-edge areas of the Computational Materials Science and was a great success, with 124 participants (students and young researchers).

The Associate Researcher of the TPCI/NHRF Dr. Anastasia Rissanou is corresponding coauthor of the publication FmocFF Peptide Hydrogel Is a Promising Matrix for Encapsulation and Controlled Release of the Anticancer Peptide Drug Bortezomib, P. Divanach, A. Noti, P. Vouvopoulos, T. Athanasiou, N. Kountourakis, V. Harmandaris, A. N. Rissanou*, and A. Mitraki*, in the leading journal in the field of molecular biology and biochemistry, Biomolecules 2025, 15(6), 839.
