ENHANCE-SKIN addresses a critical challenge and priority at a global and European level. Skin diseases, including skin cancer, pose a substantial health burden worldwide, impacting millions of people and affecting their quality of life. Current treatment approaches often face limitations in effectively delivering therapeutic agents through the skin barrier to the target site, hindering optimal therapeutic outcomes.

Developing BNH with immobilized enzymes offers a promising solution to this challenge. By utilizing biopolymer matrices as a support for enzyme immobilization, the BNH can enhance the transdermal penetration of NBCs and provide a more effective means of delivering therapeutic agents to affected skin areas. The incorporation of enzymes, such as hyaluronidase, within the BNH further enhances its capabilities.

ENHANCE-SKIN represents a pivotal step in the field of skin disease treatment, offering a novel and potent solution to address a pressing global health challenge. Its potential to enhance delivery of NBCs and provide a more efficient therapeutic approach makes it a priority research area with far-reaching implications for public health and well-being.
