Exploratory interdisciplinary research projects of early-career researchers: 1st internal call, period 2025–2026
The “Support of Exploratory Research” Action of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) aims to strengthen early-career researchers (ERE and ELE C’, postdoctoral fellows, and PhD candidates) in carrying out interdisciplinary projects through collaboration among NHRF Institutes. It provides a platform for creativity and original research ideas from young scientists, opening new pathways for collaborative science while highlighting the added value of coexisting within a genuinely interdisciplinary research institution such as the NHRF.
The project includes the following six distinct research sub-projects:
- OT4PEV – Optical Tweezers for Investigating the Mechanical Properties of PDAC-Derived Extracellular Vesicles
- HALOES – Perishable Cargoes: Investigating Maritime Trade Networks in Ancient Greece – An Interdisciplinary Approach through Ceramic Analysis
- ce-MDNC – Multifunctional Drug Nanocarriers: A Combined Computational and Experimental Study on the Synergistic Effects of COFs and Conjugated Polymers
- i-STINK – Insect-Inspired Biosensor for Water Quality Monitoring
- DENIM – Development of Eco-friendly Nanocomposites towards Innovative Textile Manufacturing
- PurpleEnigma – Unravelling the Enigmatic Composition of Purple Pigments in Ancient Greek Painting Using Advanced Analytical Methodologies
These sub-projects are carried out by six interdisciplinary research teams from all NHRF Institutes, under the scientific supervision of Prof. D. Sarigiannis.
