The objective of the proposed project is to strengthen and mature the Technology Transfer ecosystem of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF) and to establish the necessary framework for the operation of its Technology Transfer Office (TTO).

Through this structure, the NHRF research community will be able to transfer the knowledge generated within the Foundation—in cutting-edge scientific fields—to the business community and society at large, by exploiting research results and promoting technology transfer, spin-off creation and development, and innovation capacity building among researchers. The project aims to:

  • facilitate the transfer and economic exploitation of research results produced within the NHRF environment,

  • foster the creation of innovative products and services for the benefit of society and the economy,

  • support researchers in accelerating innovation, open innovation, and entrepreneurship (from idea to market),

  • promote the creation of sustainable spin-off enterprises, and

  • encourage entrepreneurship within the NHRF research community.

Alongside the enhancement of know-how and skills of NHRF’s human resources, the project also aims to establish collaboration networks with specialized professionals (e.g., patent attorneys, market experts) and experienced Technology Transfer structures.

Furthermore, the proposed project is expected to contribute to:

  • positioning the NHRF as a regional hub of technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and excellence,

  • supporting researchers in integrating entrepreneurship and market needs into their research pathways,

  • creating the appropriate conditions and procedures to help all Foundation staff align research outcomes with market and public-sector applications,

  • adopting best practices from national and international technology transfer offices, and showcasing success stories of research exploitation within NHRF to strengthen the structure and align its processes with the Foundation’s specific needs,

  • exploring funding sources and strategic partnerships (with industry, investors, and research organizations) that will enable NHRF’s innovation ecosystem to grow dynamically and contribute to excellence, value creation, and regional and national development.
