The TRANSITION project aims to perform a multi-level study of Cutaneous Melanoma (CM) through the intelligent integrative analysis of demographic, clinical, imaging, and molecular data from CM patients.

Main objectives of the project:

Comprehensive molecular characterization of melanoma patients in Greece for the first time. Specifically, the project will identify potential hereditary polymorphisms associated with disease susceptibility, detect somatic mutations, and investigate the gene expression profiles of selected target genes in tumor tissue.

Utilization of dermoscopic data for the systematic monitoring of changes in skin lesions and the early diagnosis of CM. The correlation of image-derived features with molecular data will contribute to the identification of complex diagnostic signatures for melanoma detection.

Design of an intelligent, integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, combining all subsystems and supporting efficient clinical workflow management and informed medical decision-making.

Development of a melanoma patient registry incorporating a data-driven decision-support model, based on advanced data analytics and integrative methodologies.
