The National Hellenic Research Foundation and the Iranian Cultural Centre are organizing the First International Conference on Ancient Greece and Ancient Iran: Cross-Cultural Encounters, Athens, 11-14 November 2006.

The aim of the Conference is to clarify ambiguities about the historical contacts between ancient Greeks and Iranians by documenting the extensive dialogue between the Greek and Iranian peoples in the domains of statecraft, art/architecture, religion/philosophy and literature.
