“D. A. Zakythinos” Library, Section of Byzantine Research and Section of Modern Greek Research

The “D. A. Zakythinos” Library, shared between the Section of Byzantine Research (SBR) and the Section of Neohellenic Research (SNR), holds approximately 41,000 titles, including books, pamphlets, maps, and a film library featuring rare and hard-to-find publications. Its collections cover a wide range of Greek literature from the 16th to the 19th century. Since its founding, the library has been enriched through donations from academic institutions, authors, scholars, and bibliophiles.

The library does not lend books and is located on the 5th floor of the NHRF. It mainly serves the Institute’s researchers, but also those seeking rare publications and documents, by appointment.
