The research focuses on the study of Modern Greek literary production, including both literary texts and those on the margins of the literary canon. It examines the formation and evolution of literary genres in the modern era, in connection with their cultural and historical contexts. In this framework, literature is approached as a source for Cultural History and the History of Ideas, with the theory of cultural transfers serving as a central methodological tool.

Key issues explored include:

  • The creation and development of genres or narrative forms, and the cultural components shaping them;
  • The relationship between Literature and History;
  • The interaction between literary texts and their reading audiences.

More specifically, the research investigates:

  • Genres of personal writing (memoir, autobiography, 18th–19th centuries);
  • Historically themed literature (19th–20th centuries);
  • Children’s and young adult literature (19th century);

Popular literature and the popular dimension of literature (19th century).
