National Center of Excellence in ''Nanostructured inorganic and organic-inorganic hybrid materials''

The 2000 Evaluation Committee appointed by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) identified research activities of TPCI having the potential to develop into a center of excellence. Subsequently, a TPCI proposal on Nanostructured inorganic and organic-inorganic hybrid materials: Synthesis, fundamental understanding and advanced functionality was assessed by an independent panel and was selected as a National Research Center of Excellence in the field of nanostructured inorganic and organic-inorganic hybrid materials. This program builds on a balanced integration of existing and new complementary competen cies in the development of hybrid materials, their physicochemical investigation by experimental and theoretical techniques, demonstrations of functional behaviours and photonics applications.
